DEYROLLES: A SAFARI IN AN AUTHENTIC CABINET OF CURIOSITY
A safari in an authentic cabinet of curiosity
Between boutique, museum and wonder room, the Maison Deyrolles is hard to define. Absolutely unique, it will amaze and surprise your little ones.
Specialized in taxidermy and entomology, it holds the most exquisite collection of stuffed animals. Wandering around the beautiful wooden boutique, your children will discover the most fascinating animals : giraffes, bears, rabbits flamingoes, zebra, foxes, toucan and even lions. For little explorers, there are almost numerous shells, fossils and ancient tools to look at.
Mythical emblem of Paris, the maison Deyrolle was created in 1833 and established 46 rue du Bac in 1886. It was visited and greatly appreciated by a number of artists during the 20th century such as Dali, Breton, Buffet or Théodore Monod. In 2008, the boutique burnt due to a terrible fire. 90% of the collection was destroyed but thanks to a surge of support from artists, companies, friends, Parisians and foreigners, the Maison Deyrolles has returned to its former glory.
Better than a zoo, this one of kind boutique is one of Paris’ treasure.
