Meeting Emily from Atlanta - USA

Living in Atlanta, Emily has many strings to her bow! Not only is she the founder of the social media and blog Born on Fifth, an elegant world of pastel shades, flowers, and of course bows, but also mother of two! 

About to launch our THIRD classic childrenswear collections together (stay tuned to now more very soon!), she holds a special place in our heart. 

Loving her style and caring heart, we are delighted to make you meet Emily with us today. She kindly took time to answer our questions about her way of living the lockdown.

BEFORE TALKING ABOUT THE LOCKDOWN, CAN YOUR REMIND US HOW YOUR BOND WITH CHARLOTTE SY DIMBY STARTED?

Yes, I discovered the brand and team thanks to the portrait artist Sally Gates. I instantly fell in love with a classic pastel pink dress with precious bow smocks...and so it began! So far we've created two collections of smocked dresses and baby boy outfits. They have been so well-received. I cannot wait to share our next project!

WHAT HAS THE LOCKDOWN TAUGHT YOU?

Thanks to this quarantine, I have learned the importance of family dinners. Setting a pretty table and sitting down all together makes my daughter Elle so happy. She loves these daily moments with her mama, daddy and baby brother! We enjoy them too!

I cannot say we will be able to schedule such meals every day once things go back to normal but I have to come to understand how much it can mean in a child's world and will definitely make more time for it.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST GRATEFUL FOR?

Our greatest blessing has been the birth of a beautiful baby boy, my second child named Jennings! He was born in the middle of such a crazy moment but has brought us so much love and joy! A new life to give thanks for, a symbol of hope admist all the uncertainty and fear!

WHAT IS THE FAVORITE ACTIVITY/CRAFT YOU HAVE SHARED SO FAR WITH YOUR CHILDREN SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE LOCKDOWN?

Elle and I painted a banner for her daddy's birthday and it was such fun! She loves paint pens, stickers and markers. Much to my delight she created a beautiful flower and was quite pleased with herself. 

It has been lovely having mother and daughter moments! Now that we have two boys in the family, it makes them even more special and we are becoming ever closer!

CAN YOU SHARE A FAVORITE RECIPE FROM YOUR COUNTRY?

I have to admit that cooking is not my strong suit. Luckily we've been able to order takeout. This has also been an opportunity to support some of the most wonderful local restaurants in Atlanta. We are fond of Umi's Japanese food, Le Bilboquet's French cuisine as well as Le Colonial Vietnamese dishes and La Grotta's Italian food. All worthy of a visit if you're in town.
